Alphabet made from hand cut paper sculpture and nail art, as well as further manipulating the wool on the nail art, to create a weave. This whole project evolved from cells, their shapes and patterns, colours, and really looking at how a letter could become a 'body'. 
Each layer acts as a big part of holding this piece together and giving it is final appearance; with the nails and wooden base acting as the frame (skeleton), the paper sculpture being the bits inside (Cells, organs, Etc.) and the weave for the final layer of presentation, (skin). 

Keeping the colours neutral was something I experimented with, as originally I had the idea of the wool being a mixture of flesh tones; but found that is was too distracting that the other sections of the letter were being missed. 

All cut and weaved by hand.
